How long does a landscaping project take?

Most residential landscaping projects in Cornwall run 2 to 5 working days. A front-yard bed refresh or a sod lawn is often a single day, while a full property transformation with grading, drainage, beds and sod is usually a week. Your written quote gives a scheduled window and our crews stay on your site until it is done.

When's the best time to install sod in Eastern Ontario?

Spring and early fall are ideal, because cooler air and steady moisture let the roots knit in before heat stress. Sod can be installed any time from April to late October here as long as you can water it. Mid-summer installs work fine with a disciplined watering schedule, which we leave with you.

Do you fix drainage and grading problems?

Yes, and it is the work we lead with. We regrade with a laser level, build swales, install catch basins, drain lines and weeping tile, and extend downspouts past the new landscaping. If your yard floods every spring, the grade is the fix and everything cosmetic should come after it.

How long until new sod is established?

New sod knits to the soil in about two to three weeks and is rooted well enough for normal use in roughly six. Keep off it and keep it wet daily for the first two weeks, then taper. First cut is once it resists a gentle tug, usually week three.

Do you do maintenance after the install?

Yes. Lawn care packages cover mowing, edging, aeration, fertilizing and weed control, and we offer flower bed maintenance and spring and fall cleanups. Plenty of clients have us build the property and then keep it on a season contract.

How long does interlock last?

Properly based interlock in Cornwall lasts 25 to 30 years and longer. The pavers themselves outlive all of us. What fails is the base underneath, which is why base depth and compaction matter more than which paver you pick.

Will it heave in winter?

Accepted Answer

Not if the base is deep enough, compacted in lifts, separated from the clay with geotextile and graded to drain. Heaving is a water problem, not a cold problem. Give water a path out and the surface stays flat through freeze-thaw.

How long does installation take?

A typical residential patio or walkway runs 3 to 5 working days. A full interlock driveway with removal of the old asphalt is usually 5 to 8. Retaining walls depend on height and drainage. Your written quote gives a scheduled window, and our crews stay on your site until it is finished.

Do you remove the old concrete or asphalt?

Yes. We own the excavators, so demolition, excavation and disposal of the old surface are part of our scope and part of the quoted price, not a surprise line item.

Do you do driveways as well as patios?

Both. Interlock driveways, paver patios, walkways, front entrances, pool decks and retaining walls across Cornwall and SD&G. Driveways get a deeper base because they carry vehicle loads.

What's the base depth you install?

We install 6 to 8 inches of compacted granular under patios and walkways, and 10 to 12 inches under driveways, placed in 3 inch lifts over geotextile. Every quote we write states the depth for your job.

Do you offer a warranty?

Yes, a written workmanship warranty on settlement and installation, in addition to the manufacturer's warranty on the pavers themselves. The term is stated on your quote.

Standard trigger is 5 cm (2 inches). Commercial sites with 24/7 service are cleared continuously through a storm, and residential customers can request a 2.5 cm trigger.

How soon after it stops snowing will you be there?

Overnight snowfall is targeted for cleared before 7am. During a long storm we make passes as it falls and return for a full clean-up once it ends.

Do you clear walkways?

Yes. Front walks, side entrances, steps and commercial sidewalks are cleared by hand or sidewalk machine. It is an add-on line on both residential and commercial contracts.

Salt is quoted separately so you only pay for what your site needs. It can be seasonal, per-application, or applied on conditions. Salt supply is contracted before the season.

What if the plow damages my lawn or interlock?

Driveway edges are staked before the first snowfall so the operator knows where the asphalt or interlock ends. If we damage turf or hardscape, we repair it in the spring at our cost. We are also the crew that installs interlock, so we know what a blade does to it.

Yes. Condo and HOA properties are quoted with full parking areas, visitor spaces, fire routes, entrances and sidewalks scoped separately, plus the written service log boards need for liability.

Ice events are handled as a salting and ice-management response rather than a plow. Entrances, ramps, accessible parking and walkways are treated first, then re-treated as conditions demand.
